About The Position

The Senior Manager, Payments & Fraud is a strategic leader within the Corporate Treasury team and reports to the Director of Treasury. The individual selected for this position must have a broad eCommerce Payments and Fraud skillset and considerable experience leading a geographically dispersed team of specialists.

They also need to have effective communication and influencing skills as they will regularly interact with senior level executives who oversee multiple functions. At the same time, they must have the ability and technical knowledge to roll up their sleeves and dive into detailed conversations with functional specialists.

Relationship building, negotiation, and influencing skills are also critical in this role, because vendor management (payment processors, consultants, banks, and issuers) is a critical aspect of this role.

This position is a hybrid work model with 3 days per week onsite requirements in our Portland, OR office.

Core Responsibilities

Develop and drive near and long-term Global Payments and Fraud strategies. Expand oversight of Payments and Fraud to all brands and geographies. Optimize Columbia’s payment processing platform to attain the highest level of payment authorization possible while maintaining acceptable levels of fraud and chargebacks. Continually evaluate which payment methods and processors represent optimal solutions for Columbia from both a revenue generation and cost efficiency standpoint. Serve as the primary contact and liaison for payment processors, consultants, and vendors across all brands and regions. Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to analyze, implement, and support new payment methods. Develop a team of payment and fraud specialists. Remain current on practices and trends in the Payments and Fraud space. Identify and address cross channel fraud and exploitation in the payments space. Regularly provide updates to senior leadership on Total Retail Profitability and KPIs. Oversee Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR) for all major Payments and Fraud vendors.

Flexible: Can quickly shift between responsibilities and adjust to the needs of the business. Continuous Improvement: Not satisfied with maintaining the status quo. Looks for opportunities to improve processes and leverage technology to reduce manual work. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance, economics, mathematics, computer science or related field. Master’s degree preferred. 10+ years of experience in payments, ecommerce fraud management, financial services, or related field. 10+ years of experience leading teams. Demonstrated experience working in a team setting and successfully navigating cross-functional relationships in a large international company. Extensive payment processor implementation experience, including standard methods (e.g., Visa, Mastercard, AMEX) and alternative methods (e.g., Apple Pay, Klarna, PayPal). In-depth understanding of payment and fraud industry regulations. Project management and data analytics experience preferred. Effective communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, organizational and time management skills. Works well under pressure with demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing deadlines. Strong technical skills, including advanced proficiency using Microsoft Office products, payment processing platforms (including: Adyen, AMEX, CyberSource, Klarna, PayPal), fraud tools (Ekata), and reporting software (BW).

CONDITIONS

Job requires hours that may occasionally exceed 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week during times of peak activity. Evening meetings and/or weekend work occasionally required to collaborate with people in other time zones and to ensure timely project completion. Some job pressure exists in the balancing of several projects with conflicting and sometimes changing deadlines.
